In Dawnshard, each deck is unique in the world. The developers created an intelligent algorithm that, when you open a new Card Pack, generates a unique combination of cards. You'll be the only one in the world with that combination!
To give you complete freedom with your decks, you will be able to get the ownership of the in-game assets just by playing the game. Any players will be able to buy, sell, and trade their Card Sets with other fellow players in all the partner NFT Marketplaces in a permissionless fashion.
Traditionally, in card games you can mix cards together to create a deck. This is made to give players the freedom to find interesting synergies and create an heterogeneous gameplay.
However, in most cases this mechanic leads to the exact opposite outcome. When very strong decks are created, players tend to gravitate towards using those sets, resulting in complete homogeneity - the Meta-Game.
Dawnshard aims to return to the roots, with the initial promise of adaptive gameplay, where each match is different from the previous one. Interestingly, to achieve a more heterogeneous gameplay, players needs less freedom!
Dawnshard introduces algorithmically-genereated Card Sets, which you can combine to create a deck. These Card Sets are made up of 10 cards linked together: the player will not be able to replace any card within a set. The Card Set in its entirety can be minted as an NFTs.
The main innovation of Dawnshard consists in the creation of a new mode in which players can build their decks.
To achieve the goal of creating a heterogeneous, dynamic, and always new gameplay, we combine the procedural generation of Card Sets with the influence and personal playing style of the player.
We call this mechanic Hybrid Deck-building.
The players can mix 3 different Card Sets together to create a deck. The power of the deck depends on the ability of the player to find powerful synergies and combinations, and to create the perfect balance between offence and defense.
